J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat Credits Amit Shah’s ‘Zero-Terror’ Strategy for Dismantling Terror Infrastructure

Srinagar, April 7:
Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Monday lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his unwavering support and leadership in implementing the Government of India’s “zero-terror” strategy in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the DGP, this aggressive and coordinated approach has led to the complete dismantling of terror networks and infrastructure in the region.
Speaking at a special event held at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar—where Union Home Minister Amit Shah distributed appointment letters to the families of 11 martyrs, including 10 police personnel and one engineer—DGP Prabhat paid heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices made by security forces.
He revealed that since 1989, over 1,600 police personnel, including 515 Special Police Officers (SPOs), have laid down their lives while combating terrorism in J&K. “Their bravery and dedication have ensured peace and security in the region,” said Prabhat.
Highlighting the key role of the zero-terror policy, the DGP credited its success to Shah’s strategic vision and continued support from the Ministry of Home Affairs. “Home Minister Amit Shah’s direct involvement and guidance have strengthened our resolve and operational capacity,” he said.
Prabhat also noted the enhanced coordination between the J&K Police and other security agencies, stating that this improved synergy has been crucial in dismantling terror ecosystems. He praised initiatives like general warfare training, camp security, and area domination, which have significantly boosted preparedness and on-ground efficiency.
The DGP concluded by emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting the families of martyrs and sustaining peace through robust security frameworks.
