CBSE Class 12 Physics 2025: Out-of-Syllabus Questions Trigger Grace Marks Demand

The CBSE Class 12 Physics exam held on February 21, 2025, has sparked controversy after students and teachers identified three questions as being out of the prescribed syllabus. The issue has led to widespread discussions about fairness in marking, with students demanding grace marks for the affected questions.
Reports indicate that questions related to the “Grouping of Resistance” topic appeared in multiple sets despite it not being included in the revised syllabus. Additionally, an error in Question 30(ii), which had multiple correct answers, further added to the confusion. This has caused distress among students, especially those aiming for high scores in competitive exams.
An entrepreneur has even threatened legal action against CBSE, urging the board to rectify the issue. Many educators and coaching institutes have also supported the demand for grace marks, emphasizing that students should not be penalized for errors beyond their control.
While CBSE has yet to release an official statement, experts believe the board may award compensatory marks, as it has done in past instances. Students are advised to stay updated on official CBSE announcements regarding the matter.
For now, all eyes are on CBSE’s response, as thousands of students await clarity on the evaluation process.
