Drug Peddler Nabbed in Boniyar; Over 1 Kg of Brown Sugar Seize
Baramulla, April 08 – In a major move against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a suspected drug peddler during routine patrol and naka checking in Boniyar, Baramulla. The arrest took place during the intervening night of April 7 and 8, 2025, at Bernate Bala.
According to a police press note, the suspect, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Mir, son of Late Hafiz-Ullah Mir of Bernate, Boniyar, attempted to flee but was apprehended by alert officers. A search led to the recovery of 1 kg and 216 grams of suspected brown sugar, along with a digital weighing machine.
Police have registered a case under FIR No. 25/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act at Police Station Boniyar. The accused has been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to trace others involved in the drug network.
Baramulla Police reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating drug-related activities and urged the public to report any suspicious activity in their areas.
