Shalgadi Tunnel Accident: One Dead, Three Injured in Tempo-Alto Collision on NH-44
Srinagar, March 10 (KB): A tragic road accident inside the Shalgadi Tunnel along National Highway-44 claimed one life and left three others injured on Monday.
According to officials, a Tempo (JK13C 7242) and an Alto (PB02CT 8863) collided head-on within the tunnel, leading to the unfortunate death of Anmolpreet Singh (22), who was reportedly driving one of the vehicles.
Three other individuals, identified as Arshdeep Singh (19), Charanjeet Singh (40), and Kamaljeet Singh (42) — all residents of Amritsar, Punjab — sustained injuries in the crash. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
A police official confirmed that a case has been registered, and investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the collision.
