Srinagar’s Tulip Garden to Open on This Date 2025, Kicking Off Tourism Season

Srinagar, March 21: Asia’s largest tulip garden, nestled between Dal Lake and the Zabarwan Hills, will open to the public on March 26, marking the start of Kashmir’s tourism season, officials confirmed.
Key Highlights:
Garden History: Established in 2007 by former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad to extend J&K’s tourist season.
Tulip Varieties: This year, two new varieties have been introduced, bringing the total to 74.
Bloom Duration: Tulips are planted in phases to ensure a month-long bloom.
Additional Flowers: Hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, and cyclamens will also be on display.
Total Tulip Bulbs: Around 17 lakh (1.7 million) bulbs have been planted across 55 hectares.
Tourist Footfall: 4.65 lakh visitors in 2024, up from 3.65 lakh in 2023.
•J&K CM Omar Abdullah will inaugurate the garden. Final preparations are in full swing to welcome tourists.
